history

Paul Nair chose the word Savi, meaning health and well being for his new concept of an urban market. In October of 2009 the original SAVI Urban Market opened in Atlanta’s historical Inman Park neighborhood. Housed in a small building of red brick with a woodsy touch and fireplace, Mr. Nair recreated the old time feel of a local grocery store. Here the butcher, baker and of course the wine maker all know you by name. Inside is a world for the health concuss individual.

There are fresh, locally grown organic vegetables. Or you can choose from an international selection of packaged foods with a specialty section of low fat and gluten free products. However the best SAVI has to offer comes from the executive chef ‘s creations. These include hot, nutritional dinners for a relaxed evening at home, or a quick sandwich for on the go. And don’t forget the wine, because SAVI has a large selection at affordable prices. Then in October 2011 the popularity of the new concept convinced Mr. Nair to open a new store in the Atlanta neighborhood of Brookhaven. Here you will find the same feeling of health and well being, surrounded by a small friendly community. The future for SAVI is high, quite literally. Responding to the need for more space Mr. Nair is adding a second floor to its brookhaven location. A beautiful new setting for wine tasting, gourmet cheeses and home made breads. So swing by for a glass of wine and check out the new store and see what a great new concept can do for you.
